The Experience
Departing from Ushuaia, we take National Route No. 3, which will accompany us through much of the route inside Tierra del Fuego National Park. Our first stop will be the End of the World Station, where passengers may take the optional ride on the former Prisoners’ Train, today converted into a tourist train that brings back part of the history of Ushuaia’s origins.
Once the train ride is finished, we enter the park’s natural landscapes, where winter transforms the Fuegian forest into a completely different setting. The snow, the cold, and the stillness of the environment highlight the beauty of the valleys, mountains, and forests that characterize this southern corner of the world.
We then continue towards the glacial Acigami Lake, also known as Roca Lake, one of the most unforgettable postcards of Tierra del Fuego. We will walk along its shore to enjoy the winter landscape and observe the combination of forest, mountains, and lake. From there, you will also be able to see the political division of the island, as the boundary with our neighboring country, Chile, lies just across the lake.
Finally, we reach Bahía Lapataia, the final destination of the tour and also, quite literally, the end of America. This is where the last kilometer of the Pan-American Highway and National Route No. 3 is located, after a journey that stretches all the way from Alaska to the southern end of this national park.
In the different areas we visit, we will alternate with short walks, always depending on the conditions of the day, to interpret and learn about the landscape, while enjoying a unique natural environment in its winter version.
