The Experience
Departing from Ushuaia, we take National Route No. 3, which will accompany us through most of the route inside the park. Our first stop will be the End of the World Station, where passengers may take the optional ride on the former Prisoners’ Train, today converted into a tourist train that brings back part of the history of Ushuaia’s origins. Once the train ride is finished, we enter the natural landscapes and environments of the park.
We arrive at Ensenada Zaratiegui Bay, where you can appreciate the combination of environments that makes this national park so unique: the Andes, the forest, and the sea all in one place.
We then continue towards the glacial Acigami Lake, also known as Roca Lake, one of the most unforgettable postcards of Tierra del Fuego. We will walk along its shore, and from there you will be able to clearly see the political division of the island, as the boundary with our neighboring country, Chile, lies just across the lake.
Finally, we reach the final destination of the tour and, quite literally, the end of America: Bahía Lapataia. This is where the last kilometer of the Pan-American Highway and National Route No. 3 is located, after a journey that stretches all the way from Alaska to the southern end of this national park.
In the different areas we visit, we will alternate with short walks to interpret and learn about the landscape, while enjoying an indescribable natural environment.
