The Experience
Departing from Ushuaia toward the north along National Route Nº 3, we quickly enter the Fuegian valleys, surrounded by landscapes that combine mountains, native forest, vast peat bogs, meltwater rivers, and snow-capped peaks. Along the way, we will make our first stop at a panoramic viewpoint, perfect for taking amazing photos.
As we continue along the route, the wide peat bog areas begin to appear — part of Tierra del Fuego’s characteristic winter scenery and the area where different snow activities take place. We will pass by several winter centers, including the well-known Cerro Castor, and make a stop at one of them to enjoy the surroundings and learn a little more about the activities offered in the area.
Before reaching Garibaldi Pass, we visit Haruwen, a winter center with a very special proposal. There, we will have the chance to discover its motorcycle museum, featuring unique pieces and details, as well as a Fuegian gin distillery — a different experience that combines history, local production, and the spirit of the End of the World.
We then continue along the route and begin the ascent toward one of the most unique experiences in Argentina: crossing the Andes at Garibaldi Pass. This place is not only an Andean crossing, but also offers an unforgettable panoramic view from above of the great Escondido and Fagnano Lakes and their surroundings.
We continue our adventure by descending once again until we reach the lakeshore, where we will be able to touch and feel its icy water, walk along the coast, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this incredible natural setting.
Finally, after a wonderful day exploring Fuegian landscapes, we return to the winter center to enjoy a well-deserved traditional lunch. One of the typical dishes is the famous Fuegian lamb, although there are also other delicious options available. After lunch, we begin our return to the city of Ushuaia.
